“Free Code Camp” (freecodecamp.org) is a non-profit organization that consists of an interactive learning web platform.

Part -01 Learning the Fundamentals

As we head further into the field of web designing , We find out there are several languages we need to know (Programming languages will be discussed in a future writing). And the most Basic ones to build up a functional website are ,

1. HTML (Hypertext Markup Language)

2. CSS (Cascadian style sheets)

Basically HTML is used to build the structure of a website and a CSS is used to style (colors, font styles etc.) the website.

It may sound too simple or too complicated at first glace. But these two basic building blocks of a website is too important to be considered simple. Meanwhile its user friendly interfaces and commands are too easy to understand , which makes it not a suitable candidate for a complicated topic.

Part- 02 How to know whether it is simple?

Rather than taking some other individuals personal perspective , its always better to learn and see the best case scenario before being judgmental. So in this case we can start learning HTML and CSS for ourselves and get to know the basics and jump into for complex functions.

“Experience without theory is blind, but theory without experience is more intellectual play.”~ Immanuel Kant

“Experience is the teacher of all things.” ~Julius Caesar

Part -03 Where to start?

This is the part where The Free Code Camp comes into play. A simple use friendly learning platform which lets us not only learn but also practically experience the functions of a code in the meantime.

User Friendly Interface of FCC

The Responsive Web design Certificate course is the one that is being recommended here since it teaches fundamentals of both HTML and CSS.

Responsive web design is about creating web sites which automatically adjust themselves to look good on all devices, from small phones to large desktops.

Major Topics Discussed in Responsive Web Design : (Responsive Web Design Certification | freeCodeCamp.org)

  • Basic HTML and HTML5
  • Basic CSS
  • Applied Visual Design
  • Applied Accessibility
  • Responsive Web Design Principles
  • CSS Flexbox
  • CSS Grid
  • Responsive Web Design Projects

Part -04 What do we Get ?

In Addition to the knowledge we gain in HTML and CSS we also gain a Flashy looking certificate that can be used to give credentials about your knowledge in Responsive web design.

My Responsive Web design Certificate

But, it requires us to complete the whole (~300 hours) course and also few projects (~5) in order to get this certificate. Which makes it a worthy one because that ultimately proves that the person holding this certificate can handle HTML and CSS pretty well.

Hope to see your Flashy certificate glowing in LinkedIn too ,

Till then , Happy Coding! ~AK :)
